This is the first E39 B10 V8 of its kind on its way to Toronto from Germany, and it’s actually the first Alpina B10 V8 to cross the ocean and land in North America in about 6 weeks and I am lucky to have and add this beauty in my stable. Also it’s the light weight version, no sunroof, manual sport seats and other stuff that reduce the weight. This B10 V8 4.6 produces 340 HP and 348 T and it is 400 + lb lighter then an e39 M5. The transmission is manufactured specifically by Alpina for this application (Switchtronic) so it’s almost similar as SMG but not exactly (they only came with Switchtronic). The shifters are located on the steering wheel so it’s really easy to operate and has no delay surprisingly; also the color is Alpina Blue.
Here are some pics, not really good pics, but will update the pics as soon as the car arrive in Toronto.
Thanks guys I know you would appreciate this B10, I am really looking forward to meet the bad boy in Toronto soon, also those red wiring It’s a temporary wiring for battery charger, nothing important, will be removed as soon as get my hands on it.
i wish some one who is insider could resize those pics.
Awesome find! Yet another Alpina to your collection, is this the first auto?
That's some odd wiring in the engine bay, hopefully that was only temporary.
Yes, this is my first Alpina auto, but the great thing in life is to have good friends and connections, so if for any reason I feel that the Switchtronic tranny is not up to par with the performance, I could always ask Mike and Jay at SF to plant in a 6 speed tranny. honestly that is not as bad, because I read and researched about this 5 speed Swichtchtronic tranny, the consensus are that over all its a great and responsive tranny, and I guess I will find out soon.
I would leave it stock, as it came from Alpina... just learn to live with it if you don't like it.
I would defiantly be interested on some pointers from you! But for now stay as is till I’m absolutely convinced that this tranny is not fun and not worth to keep. But it is good to know that the option is there if you want to.

Sia, don't do the swap, the B10 and B10S are the only ones I would not even bother to have 6spd, you can buy a decent M5 for lot less than what the B10 costs to register here.
