Exhaust configuration and placement is usually a dead giveaway...

And in this instance, the mirror as well?

A walk around the whole car would make it pretty based on the exterior trim, specifically the lack of gills on the side, and a peak inside would probably give it away as well...as for the mirror (well spotted), it looks way too boxy for an "M".

Thanks for the info. I don't understand why people do this. When I was looking for my M3 I don't know how many ads I came across that stated they were "M3's" but merely they were 328 that had some "M" parts...

Not yet they don't, I'm subscribed to their mailing list for updates though

Right away what struck me was the dual exhaust instead of quad, square mirrors, and non-M6 bumper. Pathetic.

"Why would someone do that?" is a question that I often find myself asking as well...

Methinks the best part of that ad is the part that describes the badge as an "upgrade"...

Lmao!! If it makes your car faster....or look better then it is considered an "upgrade" isn't it?? Lol. I wonder if you can get that "upgrade" when you purchase the car new from the dealership?

You COULD get that upgrade from the dealer but who really wants to pay for all that "performance" stuff when you can just appear to have paid for it, right?
