Change your oil people and inspect used cars BEFORE buying them. Even if you are buying from a dealer you want an opinion from someone YOU trust, not someone who is biased towards the sale.

The people who don't maintain their cars properly or do the bear minimum are usually the ones complaining the most.

A hesitation itself can be caused by a number of things, they must have codes and perhaps did not tell her because again $1200 for solenoids and a service, not adding up.

Ask her what the codes were.

Also ment to say, add cleaner while engine is warm and let run.

@SubDad, a 2010 run strong until 2020... that must be sarcasm. BMW along with most others do not make a car that runs strong for more than 4-5 years before major issues start to arise, from headlights to fuel pumps its all rip out and replace and hand the customer a $XXXX bill each time, disgusting.
i was told that most car companies have engineers that their job is to find the fail point of a given part, if it doesnt fail they engineer it to fail at a certain amount of klms.. dont know if its true...

I wouldn't doubt it, they plan ahead for failures and jack up parts etc plus feed their dealers labor, I believe it!

Mods please re-size image if you can!

*Update* So apparently my co-worker went to the dealership agian, and they diagnosed it as a coil pack issue, since the car is under warranty the coil pack will be replaced by them, BUT because the coil pack hasn't fully failed yet and they don't know which coil pack is faulty, they can't replace it!!!! WOW... it makes me loose faith in the quality of service and warranty that BMW was once known for!

I advised my co-worker to sell the car, who knows what kind of issues she will run into later on!

Wow, indeed. That's BS in many flavours and colours. Call another dealer and tell them "Dealer X says a coil pack is bad, but etc." Don't name names or get angry, but a smarter dealer will say "Bring it in, we'll find it or change them all."
If no joy there, call BMW North America and tell them what Dealer X said. Watch for launch of missiles from BMW NA to Dealer X.

I wonder if they could find their asses in the dark, given a flashlight, both hands and a ten minute head start?
