Rock Auto

Has anyone here ever tried ordering parts from Rock Auto?
Do they ship UPS and annihilate you with brokerage fees to cross the border?

Rock Auto does ship UPS, but like Tirerack, they have preferred brokerage/customs arrangements with no extra charges at your door. You can see the total bill at checkout. I bought wheel bearings for my truck from them last summer and they were at my door with 48 hrs. I'm planning to buy struts for my Honda from them this summer.

Just had a Rock Auto order come in today. Bulk bought some oil filters and it came in FedEx to my door here with no additional duties. Also had some other GM parts too so I know it wasn't a dollar amount thing.

Anyway, I do advocate shipping to the USA if the shipping is outrageous to Canada. Usually cheaper for me to ship to my brokers address and have it forwarded to me here in Canada. But going to Buffalo or whatever and doing some grocery shopping/gassing up usually negates that extra cost.

I've been ordering parts from autopartsway or pelican parts. Any other good online shops? I'm bummed that bimmerspecialist is no more.

Never used USAddress, but used CBI a bunch of times. It is $6 per package and they can hold them for 90 days free of change, if you call ahead they'll store it indefinitely. Another advantage is that CBI is quite big and they can deal with oversized shipments and even cars. My bro had 3 pallets shipped to them without any problems.

I've been buying from Blunttech, and shipping is really quick and reasonable, plus I've never been hit with border duties. The only down side, if you could call it one, is that his Canadian website isn't ready, so you have to order by email if you want stuff. He replies really quickly though, dude has really great customer service.
