Where do you get your parts!

So when your BMW brakes (like that ever happens eh!) Where do you get your parts from? I try to get them local but sometimes its just such a huge price difference than bimmerspecilist. Is there any good Canadian sites that have good priced parts and good shipping?

What are you looking for?

Maintenance items I get from Kar in Mississauga (Or Big Boy in Ottawa when I'm there), body parts and trim from forum members or scrapyards, little nuts and bolts from dealer.

PelicanParts. Free shipping (and my own customs broker to a US address) makes it worthwhile. Altrom is great if I need something same or next day. Fap99 if I need something in a hurry and Altrom's price is stupid high.

I always use Autopartsway because you get free shipping over $75, your order usually arrives within 1 day, they always have sales, and they ship from Canada so no extra fees.

Being in Canada is also good if you need to return a core.

My top three are: (in no specific order)
-Autopartsway.ca - usually received in 2-7 days (2 when shipped from Toronto, 7 from Vancouver)
-Maranello BMW - Maxbimmer members get great discounts, if not in stock, 1-2 days from warehouse
-RMP Motors - They can get parts in under 2 hours and were a life saver when my water pump went!

Too bad bimmerspecialist.ca closed down, they were the only place in Canada I could get Pentosin MTF-2.

There are those who have had bad experiences, but I've always had good luck and good service with Bavarian Autosport, and they send you a nice catalog to help you spend your money. FCP Groton is very good, too.

If I'm in a hurry I drive to Ogdensburg (bit of a hike from Pembroke) and pick the parts up at the UPS store there. If I order on day 1 the parts are there day 3, for sure. I did get burned with a back order on brake bleed screws once, and since then I specify "Ship complete."

If I'm not in a hurry I get the parts shipped US Postal Service. To do that you have to place your order by telephone. Takes a week or two.

Never, never, never ship UPS to Canada. No,no,no.
I ordered from Autopartsway once, and the parts came by truck from California. "Warehouse in Canada" my A**.
