Ignition wires

When buying an e30, is this something you guys typically change without question? Can a noticeable improvement be expected? Wondering whether I should replace mine.

I generally do, along with the distro/rotor and plugs. Not critical, but at least one of the boots is always cracked, so I end up needing a new set. Plugs make a bigger difference tbh.

I'm most cases no...you don't have to change them. the factory ign wires are quite durable and usually last many many years. this I got from bmw tech back in the day when they were abundant. However, as stated above with age and I mean AGE they may crack causing misfire or arching. the reason most don't change them is the cost factor. they are not cheap.

if you are referring to "noticeable improvement" being..."running properly" then yes..LOL!!
