Cayuga is such a bs track. Last time I was there they turned off the lights and said the transformer blew (they've done this multiple times!!). Probably the worst experience I've had at a track from a customer service point of view. And yeah, they don't prep the track well for the test & tune nights...

they cant manage the heat for something like that and want their engines to last more than 2 laps

I'd say that most aftermarket boosted cars aren't cut out for hard track duty, they all end up eventually getting heat soaked and have to come in to cool down.

Sort of ironic, isn't it? BMW spends millions on R&D to ensure their cars (especially Ms) can run at 10/10ths for hours on end. Then enthusiasts buy them and modify them so they can no longer take a real flogging for more than a few minutes.

Not saying it's wrong, just interesting.

^^^ and that's why I spent all my money on N/A mods! I coulda bought 2x supercharger kits for the price of my internal work (albeit a modest 40hp gain).

well it would be if that actually was the case. The truth is they dont spend millions in r&d to do that and most stock cars cannot run at 10/10ths for hours on end.

though , will a stock engine generally have less heat/issues to worry about compared to a an aftermarket boosted engine?Generally yes.

But stock cars(engines included) are not without their short comings. They are street cars after all and bmw isnt one of the most profitable companies going because they chose not to save pennies...they actually save a lot in various areas.

ALL manufacturers spend millions in R&D to develop engines. Heck just labour for testing is well north of a few million.

Better enjoy it a little bit before you have to pull the tranny or head again

I had no problems at Mosport and still don't after 11 years with the supercharger.
It's all in the tune...

Biggest problem I have seen at Mosport isn't the engine giving out, it's the people binning it into the walls...

My car will punish your car so hard that you will wish you never said hpf sucks. Again if you want to race with all you got, ill bring all I got too.

P.s. the station is Guelph closed down but there's a UPI in Ottawa that I got 6 drums from last year, also there's a guy registering a business for drum shipment to your door from the states, that should be up and running within the next month I am told.
You sound like another ultimate bench racer.

I think your build was very nice, but unless you have track numbers to back up your cars dyno numbers, it's just another dyno queen.

So this season, head up to Cayuga and run the car. If the numbers at the track match the dyno numbers no one will question you running your mouth.

Saw a thread about this car get bumped on R3V and it reminded me of the turbo S54 discussions people have been having recently since this HPF debacle

These guys in Norway from Jaas Performance are stuffing turbo S54s in everything... and apparently making 1000whp

^E21 as seen above

E82

Even a Mercedes 190 by the looks of it?
