Spacers question

I picked up a used set of Eibach spacers specifically for my model (e46). When tried fitting them onto the hub, spacer doesn't seem to sit flush arund the hub ring. There is a 1-2 mm movement. Just want to know if its safe to run these spacers on my car or is it a defective unit? Thanks!

What size spacers are they? Are they hub centric?

The smaller (3-5mm) spacers are usually not hub-centric, therefore you may have some gap.

Hub centric 15 mm. I looked up the s/n online and it appears to match e46 hub size...

I have 18 mm Rogue Engineering spacers and they fit very snugly in comparison to these.

Do you mean the wheel doesn't sit well on the spacer?

Check that the edge is chamfered and sometimes even if it is, it still is not enough. Look at this pic for reference.
http://www.rogueengineering.com/mm5/.../spacer_ok.jpg

My MORR VS8 rear wheels don't work with anything less that 15mm.

Don't use it if it doesn't fit flush because the wheels will wobble.

Or maybe they are 74.1mm spacers???

You might be right, Terry. E39 is 74.1 which would explain a few mm play.

If they were 20mm and E39 specific, I'd have taken them off your hands

And heed Quickid's post. I used 10-12mm Rogue spacers on my VMRs and almost had a catastrophe on the highway. Eibachs in the same size worked.

I just measured them and they are definitely 74.1 mm, so I think it's safe to say they are E39 specific.

If anyone wants them, let me know (70$. Inc extended bolts).

I'll make a separate FS thread.
