Mobile internet help

Does modem speed affect your download speed?

If I run a speed test on speedtest.net I get a result of 3-4mbps download, 100-150ping and .30.40 upload. The wifi/router I use has a capable download speed of 7.2 mbps. Bounce between the HSPA and WCDMA network.

They have another wifi/router that has a download speed of 21mbs. They also have a pocketstick that they advertise as "blazing fast 4G download speeds of up to 21.1 Mbps in our HSPA+ coverage area".

Would either of these modems make a difference in my Internets performance?

Provider is Windmobile

Thanks

the Modem can effect DL speeds, sounds like you're on a HSPA stick right now, with the HSPA+ stick you could "potentially" reach higher speeds if the network is up to it.

But Wind from what I hear is slow almost all the time, so you might not see a worthwhile increase.
