Interior Lights Staying on...grrr

I have an issue with my '97 318is that is getting on my nerves.

Sometimes when colder outside my interior lights will not go off, even when I lock the doors after getting out.

The other day it happened when getting out at a store and so I left it as I was only going to be 2 mins. When I got back in the car the lights stayed on and as I left the parking lot the slight bump from the parking lot - street transition helped the window go up that extra 1/8" and the lights went off.

At night I've just been unhooking my battery but that's getting old real fast.

Anyone know what I should be looking at to deal with this issue?

Thanks

Ryan

What happens if you put the switch to be off for the interior lights? Do they go off then?

It's most likely a door sensor. They are known to go, especially on coupes. It's the little nub that gets pushed in by the door so that the car knows it's closed.

Thanks fellas! It seems it's like the driver side that's giving me troubles so I'll take care of that. Definitely irritating lol.

Also to answer Dr. Flyview - when driving what I do is flip the interior light switch to the left so the rear and upper front lights will shut off but the ones by driver/passenger feet stay on.
