CLK 55 AMG buying advice

My dad wants me to find him a nice CLK55 with low mileage ...he's always been a Benz guy . Any thoughts or recommendations ? There aren't too many for sale .
Which years are the best , he probably wants a 2003 and up .
.....and no , I couldn't convince him to get an M5 ( he already knows my intentions )

I am not sure how you thought someone who wants a quick, 2 door grampa mobile, was going to be swayed into buying a 4 door driving machine...

You'll have better selection in the states. I can't remember what year exactly but they added the quad exhaust to the 55s after the first few yrs (believe it was late 05s?). I'm a fan of these cars, very torquey!

Good luck

Whatever you do avoid benz's with 100k or over on the clock. Get a nice cam shaft code and if not a simple sensor it is a huge $4k-$6k+ fix. Very common issue with these cars motors popping up the last few years, do your research. Had 2 customers with this issue just this year in a s550 and r350 both at or about 100k. Doesn't discriminate C E most models have the issue. I cannot recall exact year it started but maybe 2007 or 08 and up.

Benz acknowledges the issue but will not extend warranty. This is why after a quick clearing of the code they go on sale under what they should, in weeks a new owner will have a nice bill.

Double checked today, camshaft issues are 2006-2011
