Importing a 2008 BMW X5 to Canada from Kuwait

Hello,

I tried searching this, but could only dig up info on importing from the States. There also seems to be some conflicting information when I go to transport Canada's guidlines, and Canada Border Agency's guidlines.

Is it legally possible to import a 2008 X5 to Ontario from Kuwait to anyone's knowledge?

If so what minimum mods may be required?

figured..

So any vehicle being imported to Canada must be 15 years or older, unless it is from the States?

Basically impossible, with a couple of exceptions (which don't apply to the X5)

Just curious why whould you even consider that! Trucks (and most cars) cost WAY more out there. Tons of them get exported out of Canada and the US, but this is the first time i see anyone tying to bring one in!

Family member owns one out there and wants to import it here as he will be moving here. He has super low KM on it and it is an individual edition - likes it a lot. I'm sure he will need to come to terms with reality and sell it/buy a new one here.

if price is no object it can be done. it will be much cheaper to sell the car and buy the same car here.

Possible, but you have to do lot of leg work, since the X5 was made in the United States and as long they sell exact same model in United States or Canada.
