FS: Akebono Ceramic Brake Pads

For sale is a set of *NEW" Akebone Euro Ultra Premium Disk Brake Pads. These are ceramic brake pads and are for front calipers. These are brand new. I bought them in October 2013. They are model #

EUR781

They will fit an e46 325i sedan (front calipers). Do not know what other BMWs they will fit so check with the manufacturer or on a reseller's site.

Why a ceramic pad?
BMW's brake pads are great in terms of initial bite but it seems they are made of coal dust. My front wheels would start to turn black in couple of days (or less) with BMW's pads. I take care of my car but cleaning wheels every second or third day drove me crazy. The Akebono ceramic pads, while not %100 dustless resulted in very low amounts of dust. And the dust is grey so it's hard to notice, unless you left it for weeks.

Do the pads change brake feel?
In my experience, they do. They do not make my car brake any faster (or less fast) than it did with BMW pads but in my experience these Akebono ceramics tended to have less initial 'bite' than BMW's pads. From what I've heard and read, this is common for Akebono ceramic pad users.

Are Akebono Ceramics harder on rotors than BMW pads?
I've never noticed a significant difference in rotor wear when using cermamics over BMW's pads.

Will Ceramics warp my rotors?
Outside of BMW or OEM rotors, I've never used any other rotors on my car and I've never had a rotor warp while using these pads.

PM me or post a question here

$70 for local pickup (I'm in the westend). These are brand new pads. Fronts. Will fit facelifted e46 325i sedan (my car).
