^ been ordering stuff online for years, CRA is pretty hit and miss. They sometimes charge duty on stuff made in the USA/Mexico, sometimes they tax you on a $10 package, sometimes they don't tax you on a $800 package.

UPS (yes, i said UPS) had/has a great shipping program called WorldEase, they charged by weight as usual but included duty/brokerage/taxes in the price and often you paid around $60-70 total for an decent sized order around $800. I used to buy my LiquiMolly like this, I'd buy 10 x 5L jugs at a time and other stuff (brake pads, control arms,wipers etc). But seems most vendors stopped using this service, probably caused more headache than it's worth.
