The 920's a cool phone. I guy at work took it with him to Moscow. His night shots of Red Square were phenomenal, but then Nokia's always had really good cameras in their best smartphones. My old N95 kicked a$$.
Lol the sales target for BB phones has been reduced from 1.75 million to 300,000 by some analysts..
wow.
Are they engineers? If not, it's not a educated guess at the sales. Only when BB releases the numbers, we can say that. Until then, it's just people taking crap out their ass.

lol what sort of question is that. No, they are analysts with good connections in the industry whom have told them the rough amount of shipments. Pretty good guestimates of you ask me.
I would agree that the analysts are making their estimates based on numbers provided by rim for units shipped and/or numbers provided by retailers for units ordered .
The numbers aren't solid though. MOBILICITY is now receiving the Z10. That will help boost phone sales. Other carriers still don't have it. Once it makes the rounds, I think it will do fine. If they fix bugs/issues and keep on top of things, they could survive and then make a push for the Z11 in the fall or next spring, try to keep up with a new phone a year deal like Android and iPhone.
Everyone will find out the sales numbers at the earnings call end of march, until then bb cannot release any info about anything, some analysts are idiots that are controlled by the hedge funds to release info to keep the stock in the red, numbers dont lie, once released let the short squeeze begin! Just look at the short squeeze that happened to netflix when they beat last earnings... For some reason wall street hates on bb... Could also be a bidding war going on behind the scene, who knows...
You people should realize they dont pull numbers out of their yazoos...their reputation and jobs depend on them making accurate statements. So BB10 is almost given away to boost numbers like the disaster tablet they made, they shipped out millions but they dont tell you until the next few quarters how many was returned or unsold.Their 15 minutes of fame has passed now the bigboys from Apple,Samsung,Google and Nokia will show how its done.

LOL Mobilicity...... The only cariers that mattered were Bell, Rogers and Telus, because any realy BUSINESS oriented consumer who is going to buy this phone is going to be using one of the big 3 cariers in Canada.
Second, what I said doesn't even matter. The analysts are using their really good sources to get an idea for shipments - WORLD WIDE, not just Canada, and the figures are pretty low.
Third, it's a terrible phone thats late to the market.

No one hates on BB any more than they should be hated on.
The old RIM have stopped providing guildance on how many unit they shipped or sold for a long time so analysts that cover BB have to call their carrier contacts to get an estimate so that they can write their research paper to their companies's financial advisors who will advise their clients to buy, sell or hold, so if you are an investor, this information will be useful to you, other than that... who cares...
Then again, many a time, analysts are wrong, for BB, Peter Misek from Jefferies have been covering this company for so many years and he is rather spot on, on his analysis on BB and his numbers(500,000) differed from other analysts too and he has a target price of $18,again, if you are not an investor, this should not matter to you... .
Disclosure: I am an investor and I treat the current shipped or sold numbers by these analysts with a grain of salt.

You're overestimating the "really good sources" the analysts have. In this case, you're talking about Canaccord Genuity, and their sources consist of nothing more than calling around to carrier retail locations and asking staff how sales are. They made an adjustment because the device wasn't being sold in the US yet. This is the same firm that told us that Apple shares would hit $800 soon. They don't have a good track record. They're also saying BBRY will hit $9. In comparison Citigroup and Jeffries say $20, Bernstein say $22, and so on but that doesn't make the news as much.
People like to focus on negative news and ignore positive signs if it doesn't fit in to a preferred narrative they're already sold on. We'll know the numbers when they're released, right now only BB and the carriers have any real idea.
P.S if MOBILICITY the best they can do for discount cell providers they are desperate just to show units moved.
opps my mistake...if Samsung Knox is a success any sort of "advantage" BB had is gone........BYOP (Bring your own phone) is going to be the norm for companies trying to save a buck in hard economical times and if RIM sorry Blackberry wants to tap the third world markets so be it but most people agree the smart phone market is already reaching its plateau and by the signs that Apple shares has dropped %20 from its highs and rumors Tim Cook is stepping down the cell phone market is expecting a pull back on spending by the money cautious buyers. So whats up with BB after has launched in the US,there is NOTHING coming from them that is going to be game changer this year and by then Apple and Samsung would have released their newest toys for the important fourth quarter sales.
