2002 E46 325ci DME/Transmission Controller Reset/Update???

Hey RMP,
I heard great things about you guys and I am relatively new owner/user in this forum.

My 2002 E46 coupe has been giving me this knocking sound when i come to a complete stop as i hit the brakes. It feels as if i hear a "dong!" sound when i brake quickly. When i brake gradually, sometimes i hear it sometimes i don't.

My local mechanic said it could be possibly be a DME/Transmission controller reset/update - not too sure what is that. It seems like it happens when the gears are down shifting from 2 to 1. Any explanation from you guys will be helpful.

Some quick details on the car. Everything is original. Automatic. Have about close to 66000km on it at the moment. No mods.

Let me know what should i do and whats the damage to my pocket?

Thank You!

Yes sometimes a EGS update will help the 2 to 1 thump. We are able to update your DME and EGS software with the latest version.

Please call us for pricing and to setup an appointment.
