Odd E30 for sale... GT-R powered
My homeboy Newman started working on this thing like 5 years ago so some might have seen it along the way.
He bought a beaten E30 chassis and one tired RB26DETT Skyline GT-R motor and I thought he was just going to build something quick to hoon sh1t up in, drift and just give random beatdowns.
Nope, turned into an insane project but now its for sale.
Haters going to hate but his work and creativity is epic. Guy should start a shop instead of Engineering field but has taken up base jumping gotten tired of cars.
I don't make sh1t like this up.

Yeah 500whp in that chassis would be a handful. Gotta find some time to zip down and see him for a ride before it goes.

Assuming you could make it profitable (not everyone can), it'd be fun to build crazy shit like that for a living. I know I daydream about it every now and then...

I'm sure a lot of people do, but I don't see how you can make it profitable.
According to the ad he spent $45,000 plus 4 years of time. The last time the car was for sale I think he was asking $35,000 and now $30,000. Granted this car has a very unique look, and if it was a little more subtle it may be easier to sell. But I think it really comes down to the price.
I think the only way to make money would be if someone wants a car like that for example but can't build it themselves pays you to build it for them.

That's the idea. You find people with lots of money who want crazy stuff done to their cars and can't (or don't have the time to) do it themselves.

Unfortunately even at that price difference, it's not going to be enough to make this car sell. I doubt he'll get more than 15 for it, and even then it will take a long time and the right buyer. When it comes to something this custom and peculiar, it's more about the journey to get everything to meet your taste, not getting the best value for your money.
It can definitely be profitable to build them for people but you'll never make any money selling completed cars like this, not even break even, not even remotely close. The trick is to stick to high caliber stuff. Like a rich guy with a Porsche who says make this thing stupid fast, with the coolest upgrades available - here's a check with my signature, put whatever number in the box that you desire.

ya this car is way too custom to meet 100% of any one person's tastes (except for newman's of course) I agree that it is worth that much money to the right person, but the trouble is finding that person.

Ill give him 10K. Getting a penny more than that is completely dreaming. Not to discount his work, but there are 10 Cars I would rather have stock for 30K.

You can barely get a properly done e30 with a 24v swap for 10k. I'd say this is worth more than that even if you don't think so.
