I know, petty crime around the city happens more often than people think, someone I know that drives a Smart car had his rocker panel stolen when he was in a store for 20mins, happened in broad daylight in a parking lot in front of the store.
those metal tire valve caps are also pretty popular.

also keep a look out for your lawn furniture, people will steal those cheap plastic chairs & propane tanks.

I can understand the propane tank but really, a recycling bin?

On a side note my blue bin lid is all warped, I guess the heat and sun melted it. Hate this weather!

My neighbours steal my recycle bins on a weekly basis and leave me their busted to **** and full of infraction stickers bluebox. Every week I go get it back. Its so petty and frustrating.

A friend of mine went to visit his elderly mother at her house. As per usual he did a walk around of the property just to make sure everything was copacetic. When he got to the backyard, he was shocked to find 30 or so blue recycling bins piled up. When he asked why she had so many bins she responded, "Can you believe EVERYONE was throwing them away!?!"

Writing your house # on the bin may not stop intentional theft but it will really help out some guy who's mom has dementia.
