Opinions: 2007 335i Sedan

Hi everyone,

I just bought a condo and am looking at possibly selling my car in the near future as I'm in the process of changing to another firm and I will not need a car any more.

This is only a feeler so I'm more interested in finding out what I can possibly get for the car versus actually selling it, but if someone is highly interested in the car and the price is right I may be ready to sell it as early as mid November.

Any opinions and comments are appreciated as I really want to gauge the market and I don't really care what Keele and Finch is selling their 335i's for with high mileage and related issues so those comparisons are preferably left out.

Details on the car:

2007 335i 4dr Sedan
Jet Black on black interior, 6spd Manual
Warranty until May XX 2013 (not 100% on exact date)
Current mileage is 66,675km
Car was oil sprayed by previous owner and by myself as well
All maintenance is done up to date
Car will be sold Certified (I don't think e-test rules as the car is still too new, but if they do it will be E-tested as well)

Mods:

Performance/Sound:
JB4 (most recent software update installed)
BMS DCI - not currently installed
Resonator removed from OEM Exhaust

Exterior:
19" BBS (authentic) CH 8.5" front and 10" rear - brand new rear tires
10mm front spacers with extended lug bolts
Lowered on M-Performance OEM shocks, springs and struts
M-Performance trunk spoiler (not the thin lip, but the thicker piece that looks like a CSL trunk style)
M3 Front bumper
M-tech rear bumper with OEM Diffuser
Blacklines tail lights
25% Ceramic tint by Autolinks
LED Angel eyes
Flat black kidney grills
3K HID Fog lights (in M3 Bumper)

Interior:
Carbon vinyl wrap trim wrap - full
M-Performance Shift knob
Coded with M3 digital speedo, auto up down windows via remote, Angel Eyes as DL
custom fire orange 335i emblem on trim
Full LED interior bulb set including visors and trunk, flood lights and foot wells
OEM rubber mats front and rear

Extra items included:
Brand new winter tire set with original 17" alloy rims
OEM exhaust (i bought a separate exhaust to remove the resonator as I did not want to hack up the original one)
OEM Front Bumper
OEM Rear Bumper with necessary brackets

I'm sure there is something that I'm forgetting but if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thank you very much for any and all input, I think that I should be able to get north of $27,000 given the condition and mileage and mods, but if you feel differently let me know.

Miro

Very nice, clean car...I really like the subtle mods...nothing too extreme...The only thing that people might be concerned with is the fact that it's a "first year" 335...Considering the condition, kms, and tasteful mods, I would be looking at selling if it were mine: $27k

Again, that is just my personal opinion...however, whatever you decide to do, when you sell, just be ready for massive low ball offers...

Nice car, GLWS. I'm shopping around for a 335i sedan right now, but this out of my budget. You realize you can't expect to get money back for modifications? The condition/mileage and options are all top choice though!

I figure low ballers are out there and that is fine, that's what Keele and Finch is for.

GeMc, I see your point with the modifications and I definitely understand the fact that I can expect to get pennies on the dollar. But what I want to do is gauge the market for the car as it sits right now. Obviously the mods can be reversed and if parting out leads to significantly more net dollars then a part out is likely, but getting back to the point, as a potential buyer, what would you pay as I really want to know what the market thinks and you are clearly part of that market. I just want your honest opinion, regardless of what you "put down", I'm just using it as a reference, so a number would be greatly appreciated and thank your very much for your input.

The car i'm negotiating right now is an '07 335i 6-spd w/nav & sport pkg 106km for $20g. It's in VERY nice condition and stock (a good thing? to some people!). I'd say $25g for yours would be reasonable with the current market conditions and other modded '07 E90's on maX. FTR, I'd part-out your mods to gain more profit. GLWS

From my experience, I found cars with 100 000km to to be a lot cheaper than 50k-60k km on the clock. Once you reach 100 000km mark, expect to blow easly 2-3k on coolant, balljoing and what not.

Bottom line: post it for what you want to post it for! Yes, a car is only worth what the market dictates, but you also need to consider that there will always be a buyer! You may have to have some patience!

If you become more inclined to sell let me know. I'm interested, but not at $27k. I've seen stock a few 2007 sedans with similar mileage hover around the $20k mark for awhile before presumably selling.

high teens to low 20's, regardless of the mods. All the mods will do is make your car "stick out" from the MANY 335i that are out there, to some buyers and obviously most likely to sell faster.

There are VERY VERY VERY few people out there looking for a GOOD car, everyone just wants a CHEAP car.

MANY buyers do not want a car that needs nothing in terms of maintenance, they all want things either currently wrong or coming up for replacement so that they can use that against you to lower your price. If nothing is wrong, they may walk away because they can't bargain and it is most likely out of their range.

Best of luck anyway, I am finding more and more people are not dealing with private selling, rather just trading in their cars or selling them into dealers.

The aggrivation out there is hardly worth the extra few $$$ in the end. Kijiji is by FAR the worst.

Completely agree with you on this one!!! It seems that many dealers are also just buying crap...ie. cars that have claims against them etc. Most cars I see on autotrader are priced well below market value...

Because we can buy them cheaper then a good one and sell them for cheap because THAT'S what sells. The good cars sit and sit unless you price them lower.

Most buyers only look at $$$ at that moment, not long term.
