I was looking at the "General Insurance" thread and didn't find anything useful, so I'm making a plea to the public!
I'm looking to purchase a 2003 BMW 325i/xi but what's holding me back is INSURANCE! I'm currently insured with State Farm and I was being quoted at 480/month. They were saying because BMW's have "performance engines" the insurance automatically goes up regardless of the year or make. Right now I'm paying 370/month for a 2002 Honda Civic coupe which I just sold on Monday. Now, I could go out and get another car like a G35 for example, which is surprisingly cheaper than the BMW, but I will ride or die for the Beamer. To give you an idea of what my record looks like...
1.) I'm a 21 year old male.
2.) I have a "Fail to dim headlight" ticket <- which is really stupid.
3.) I was in a 50/50 at fault accident in 2008.
4.) I live in Scarborough.
I figured I'm a member of this forum so why not ask my soon-to-be-fellow BMW'ers who they are insured with and what I could possibly do to overcome this horrible news.
