Question Help! Windshield wipers not engaging

Hey everyone,

Just had the pleasant experience of my windshield wipers stopping mid stroke during today's thunderstorm. After rolling down my window and using my shirt to clear some room I made it home and looked at them. The motors seem to be working fine as they sound as though the are responding to all the speed settings, the wipers themselves don't engage at all though and are happy to just sit at the bottom now. Starting university this Saturday so I'd like to sort it out asap. Heard wipers on e30s can by a pain so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Geoff

time to change your wiper linkage Geoff. :-) the pivot most probably popped off. take the grilles out and take a peek inside. they become a problem because people don't lubricate the linkage and they begin to seize causing the motor to work harder and eventually both pack it in. :-) oh and a pain indeed it is having to remove the motor and linkage...Have fun with that. ;-)

Its a stupid pain lol. I ended up forcing my heater thing out. Damn. Tried everything till I gave up and ripped it out considering this car will be summer driven only with no a/c.. dont need heat up in here !

Dont even get me started on the stupid wiper motor and linkage.
