Insurance for modified cars

Hey Everyone,

I'm currently redoing my 325 and have come to the point where I'll be sinking money into a S52 swap, which i already own. I am now finding out that there is not many companies insuring these cars. Do anyone know of insurance companies that insures modifies cars, other than Silver Wheels and Facility Insurance???? Any information would be a great help...

You might consider looking into Zehr Insurance.

Do they have a lot of restrictions. What modifications do you have on your car? If you don't mind, what are you paying? Thanks a lot for the information, I'll be calling them tomorrow.

Hi Jason,

I'm an insurance broker. The rules on modifications are about as clear as mud. Different companies have different tolerances for different modifications.
It was discussed previously, here: http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138844
In that thread I also list the common restrictions of a collector car policy. http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/show...1&postcount=39

Most often with engine modifications you'll end up with a facility policy. It is expensive but there are NO restrictions.

Age of the driver is a heavy factor. I've had suspension kits get 23 yr olds declined with the same company who happily accepted a 32 yr old with an ECU tune, suspension, air intake, rims, and body kit. Your conviction history is key as well, obviously.

If you'd like a quote, feel free to send me a PM.

Good luck!
