Anywhere to get a e46 transmission fixed in Ontario?

Just curious if anyone has knowledge of whete to get transmission repairs or at least taken apart/reassembled ? I am guessing it is a possible bent shift fork.. And don't want to shell out $2k for a new trans when it isn't serious enough to justify it.

probably cheaper to get a used tranny from a junk yard.

What makes you think this? Assuming it's a manual, any shop can take a look at it and let you know if it's just the shift linkage or actual transmission.

I doubt anyone can open and close a BMW tranny in Ontario ... only a handful of shops in the US do it. Tools and parts are not readily available.

Shift fork is not the same as a "shifter linkage"!

I don't think the odds of finding a good low mileage 6 speed are high on this side of the border.

The issue is that once or twice every week or more third gear will pop out of gear. Every time I try to make a video of it I end up with an hour of footage trying to replicate it and I can't. And then one day it just pops out of gear. If it were a synchro issue I'd be inclined to think it would happen more often but I'm no expert.

there are a handful of vendors around that could probably get you a clean trans. theres one right above you

Popping out of gear is definitely not synchro related, it does sound like a bent fork. I think you're in for a USA shopping trip. You can try Raven as they run them in their race cars, and might have a source ... or Camirand BMW in Quebec. I know they used to have a couple on the shelf.
