Calabogie this last weekend
So this past weekend I found a wall leaving a corner at Calabogie. Royally messing up my newly roadworthy e30.
I just wanted to say thanks, to everyone, for helping me out (and covering my car). I showed up at that track knowing nobody, totalled my car and had about 20 people come up and ask if I needed anything, from water all the way to towing my crumpled car an hour and a half down the road. Hell the list of things offered was amazing, I had people offer me places to stay, beer to drink, rides almost anywhere in ontario with and without my car, phones to use, food to eat, and most importantly people shared their "We have all been there too" stories which made me feel less of a **** up.
I felt kind of like I left there with out saying thanks to everyone, and I feel bad.
Best quote of the day was "there are two types of racers. Those who have hit the wall, and those who are going to hit it".
ps: if any of you who mentioned getting the frame straightened are on here, can you let me know who I might want to talk to about getting that done? I was gonna get numbers and email addresses but i forgot/ had other things on my mind (what with wrecking my daily driver and being a good distance from home).
pps: I'm not usually this mushy, but you guys defiantly made a shitty situation better.
