Seats

So in the E30, is there an upgraded seat option? The factory 370,000KM seats are no longer comfortable. I currently have non sport heated leathers(plether) I beleive.

Do the E36 sport seats fit? Is there a better alternative? What have you guys done?

Thanks

Dustin

I had power e36 sports seats in my first e30. I was also able to install the rears too.

I drilled new holes for the front seats, but there are better ways to do it now.

Do a search on google for:
How to install e36 seats into an e30

You'll find several write ups on how to do it. There are even seat brackets you can buy (eBay, r3v, e30tech etc etc)

I just picked up a set of e36 Manual vaders that I will be installing with brackets, eventually lol. These will be a temp fix while I get my e30 seats completely redone.

Edit: I just reread your original post. Have you tried e30 sport seats?

e36 seats are still meh compared to the e30 sport. I wouldn't bother. stick with the sport seats.

I think I saw the ad; light grey; drivers side reupholstered 450.00 for the two fronts and rears. they do seem to be in really nice shape.

I like my E36 Sport seats alot, I find them quite comfy. I may go that route if I can't find some Black E30 sports.

Sorry clementine I'm partial to black.

I'm a bigger guy, I find that, at least my e30 seats, are pretty tight around the thighs. I'm not saying they are not comfortable, but on long drives you start to feel it. When I swapped in the e36 seats into my first e30 it was night and day!

On my current e30, because I don't drive it everyday, I will keep the e30 sport seats because I find they suit the car much better. I have a set of vaders that I will put in while mine are getting redone. I suspect they will look HUGE in the e30 but I know they will feel GREAT. Once I'm done with them I'll probably sell them.

I have to agree with you on the "long trip" driving. your back starts to feel it and I find I experience more fatigue with those seats then the comforts. but for daily sporting they are great! :-) and look better too!
