My first E30

I'm now the proud owner of a 1989 325i and am looking forward to some topless driving and as you can no doubt tell, I'm new to the board with this being post #1!

Some quick blackberry pics I took...

why does it have diving boards if it's an 89?

And the early tails. This looks like an 1984-1987 car.

Great color and the interior sure is clean!

Interior looks mint! Clean car.

Cabrio's didn't get the facelift until 1991.

Neat! Is that color matched bumper surround come stock like that? Or is that an aftermarket thing?

I think it was only on the verts originally, the coupes seem to not have had this from what I see, bumper change on them for colour was maybe87- 89? I could be wrong, just going by what I have seen so making an assumption.

Bottom line I believe they are original equip, not aftermarket

All the bumper and trim pieces look original; that's how cabrio's came until '91.

Appreciate the comments guys, to the best of my knowledge the car is all stock aside from the "hideous" wheels. :-) Car only has 65k miles on it, and doesn't appear to have ever seen snow.

I've got two questions that I'm hoping you all can help me with...

1. After doing some research here I believe that I have a SI Board that will need replaced/repaired, this an easy fix? When the car is started, the tach doesn't move...but once the car has been running for a couple of minutes, the tach kicks in and everything works except for the temp. gauge, it sits at the hot end all the time.

2. I have a replacement roof in the box so I'm looking for suggestions on who can do the install for me.

Clean looking 'vert man. Takes me back, I used to have the same car back in 95-96 but it was Delphin grey.

What did you end up paying for it if I may ask?

Yes, replace the SI batteries.

Sell me your wheels.

The replacement top question always comes up around here, but never really seems to get answered. I'd think a boat repair show would know someone rather than taking it to a mechanic or interior shop.

So is replacing the SI batteries fairly straight forward?

And not sure how selling you my wheels will help, but if you say so...

I guess the quest for a boat repair shop shall begin!
