|| 1 Driver, 2 Days, 4 wheels carving up some mountain roads || *HD video*
Took off on a whim to drive 420mi to the Tail of the Dragon on the weekend of June 16th. I have been here during Spring 2010 and 2011, but not this year. Seeing as it was only a 6hour drive I figured why not? I love driving, and I love my car so it only made sense to head down on a random and spontaneous decision!
Footage was recorded using a GoPro Hero2 HD camera mounted on various spots on the vehicle, while driving US129 and the surrounding roads. If you are a true car enthusiast, you HAVE to experience these roads.
Hope you guys enjoy the clip!

Nice! I was there with a friend at the end of April this year (co-driving).
Dragon is definitely a road that one must drive at least once in a life time.
The drive was 1400km each way through..

It's worth it thought. A few of us make that trip down every year. 14hours isn't a long enough drive IMO! Then again something's wrong with me.

It's just as fun in a car. The lateral G's you experience if you drive the road hard are pretty intense. Some passengers even got nauseated in the past - myself included.

That was the plan, but at those speed you barely hear the intake

Yeah these V12 EVOs stretch pretty hard. Didn't realize the rear poked that much til I saw the angles. Fun = huge understatement.

I'm assuming you're using the gopro right? I just got the hero2 and I did a test video with it and got quite a bit of wind noise. Are you using the waterproof backing or the skeleton?

Yeah I used a Hero2 as well. There was nothing to be done about the wind noise at high speeds
I believe I used the waterproof mount during this video.

We had our honeymoon in the area, and spent quite a bit of time on the Dragon. Fantastic road, but there are other (arguably better) roads in the area with WAY less traffic/attention. It's a beautiful area, with the Smokey Mt. National park nearby and plenty of things to see and do. WELL worth the drive.
