Lots of info here: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=165995
Got mine from mike @ Maranello, could also try pelican or something but they were not that expensive
The drop isn't that substantial, there are a few picture comparisons in that thread
The aftermarket ones seem to cost a bit more, the eBay ones are likely e90 hats

These are the lower E90 hats:
http://www.supremepowerparts.com/pro...x?prod_id=6189
Should contact them and ask if anyone has installed them on an E30 yet. Would be about 25mm lower I theorize.

I was looking into non E90 drop hats but avoided them because I heard stories of them binding.
I got E90 ones from Maranello BMW for about $30.

Heard this as well, people were worried with even the normal e90 hats and ground down a corner or something
Also worthy to note if you're running camber plates, only some fit without contact.

I use e90 drop hats on my setup. Got them for about 50.00 from a dealer.
No issues at all.

I've got dealer e90 hats on my vert (and put them in Defaultname's car as well) and they don't bind at all. Only paid like $12 a piece for them They fit the spring perfectly, and don't overhang around the edges. They don't give a huge drop, but definitely a noticeable drop. If you're swapping springs, might as well do the e90 spring cup while you're at it.

Price is right, but potential issues when using drop hats with lowering springs. The e30 front suspension already has limited range of movement, wouldn't these compress the shock considerably and shorten the travel?
Just a thought... would be great to have some measurements.
PS. I don't know about you guys but I find the MacPherson suspension a little annoying.

No, that's the whole idea. It just allow the whole strut to move up in relation to the car. Identical to lowering the stack height of a camber plate (google it for pics).
