There is still confusion with the term "no fault insurance"; including me;
fault is still assigned to somebody, to be charged by cops and to jack up the premium.

The "no fault" is just to make claim easier, like dealing just with your own insurance company, in this instance, your insurance is paying you and will not claim against the other insurance company( the other poster is wrong in his assumption that your insurance is claiming a higher value from what they will be paying you, this wil amount to fraud, isnt it?)

Your last point, really has nothing to do with insurance, and I agree, they dont really care if your car is better maintain, that it took you a long while to buy your dream car or has rare option or the top of the line hi fi system, (unless you insure it), they work by some formula or criteria they have in place.

I bet none of us wants to go through this situation but shxt happens, at least you were not injured, can you imagine if your insurance stop covering your medical expense and I bet you read some of those horrow stories....

Try finding out who your insurance company's Ombudsman is, check with him/her if their office deals in such matter..

Pics of the damage taken by my insurance co's appraiser. It looks fairly innocuous and surely it'll be on the road again soon, I highly doubt I have the know-how and the resources to get it back to that condition myself though.
