aftermarket stereo

i was installing my radio using the harness adapter for the amp integration and the volume doesnt go very loud even when the stereo is on full volume
is it better to just go with out the amp integration

I installed and aftermarket deck in my 328 last year, and kept the functionality of the stock amp and mine sounds great even with the stock speakers. I might suggest you re-check your wiring to ensure that there are no out of phase wires, or loose connections, and that the remote wire is connected securely. I would lean to believe you have a speaker or two out of phase though.
