So I've had my 99 M3 for almost 2 months. I love it....no need to say more. recently I have had a noise happening after driving hard and braking hard I get a whining noise as I let go of the throttle and the revs drop. Does anyone else have this issue?
Any ideas on what may be the culprit? The car drive mint .......preforms unbelievably. Just trying to cover all my bases so I don't neglect a disaster.
without a sound clip, could be anything.. alternator bearing, waterpump going, tensioner(s) going, could even be worn serp. belt.
Totally.
I will try to get a clip of the noise but to be honest you will never be able to tell even on HD. But I will give it a try.
I have changed the the two idler pulleys but it sounds like it is coming from under the intake manifold. Could it be the Drive Shaft center support bearing?
Check your power steering fluid level (ATF). Good chance you're hearing a dry pump.
So I feel like a Retard. It turns out that is exactly what it was.........topped up and noise is gone. Totally slipped my mind to check the Power Steering fluid.
