My second rear view mirror with the electromagnetic fluid f'd up so I decided to drain the fluid out and re-assemble. I found that using both the mirror and glass its connected to, makes a rattling noise when driving. (i guess they rub against each other).. I disassembled and took out the glass portion and secured the mirror on its own.
My question is there any material (cotton, or cloth) that will not react to the electrical components within the mirror. In other words, is there anything out there safe enough to stuff the inside so that it stays in place? It is secure at the moment but wiggles like crazy after a bump. I would assume it gets pretty hot in there too.
Side note:
Since my rear view mirror has gone through such pain and agony I decided to just mod out the red clown nose and insert some velcro for a DVR I recently purchased off ebay.
Now I can record my drive, 8gb mini sd card..about 2 hrs..
