Remotec Type B

Anyone know about these wheels?

Apparently they were around before Borbet and sold the design for the Type A and the Type B to them.

I found a set in 16x7.5/9 for $350, but they'll need a serious refinishing and will have to be redrilled to 4x100 (they're 4x108 currently)

So my questions are:

Does anyone know anything about the value or rarity of these wheels?

Where in Ottawa can I get a refinish and redrill done? Cost?

Here are some more shots of them: http://s1078.photobucket.com/albums/...DESVT/Remotec/

Best place locally to get refinishind done is on Iber Rd (close to Autotrendz)
expect about $150 per wheel.

I inquired about fill and redrill and anticipate about $200/wheel locally here in Stitsville ottawa, however after some more research I opted that this would not be a safe or viable solution to something want.

seriously think about it 1st.

I've used http://www.alloywheelrepair.ca/ with great success, but you need a skilled person to do a proper fill and redrill. The redrill might not even bee appropriate. Given the cost, just find the proper wheels instead.

Hell, just get new borbet reps.

Alloywheelrepair...those are the folks on Iber that refinished my Audi RS6 wheel I had on my mk5 GTI.

excellent work, good turnaround too all performed in house, and not outsourced like others.

They did my boss's 5er wheels too, two serious bends from a road hazard, excellent results.

Maxbell, why not call them about the redrill and see if they've done it if you're heart is set on these wheels.. but you'd be looking at over $1000 by the time they're done. Much easier to buy some from r3v or e30tech and ship to Ogdensburg.

I spoke to them about a redrill, and they had recomended Pegan Industries on Stevanage Dr. Dave Richard is the guy to speak to there.

Food for thought, I'm unsure is Remotec is a forged or a cast wheel...but think of it...welding up a pressure cast wheel is like pot metal ...compromising the integrity of the rim, if it's cold forged billet alluminum, that's another story.

I would just get reps, and call it a day.
no use throwing away money like that looking at over $2G's..

remotecs- 350
refinish- 600 (150*4)
redrill- 600 (150*4)

Yeh, just called around and before I even have tires I'm looking at over a grand. Not worth it, I'll just wait the 3 months til Tunershop restocks their Kerscher Carmonas and Schmidt Modernlines.

If I'm going to fill and redrill, I may as well do style 5s.

They're on Kijiji but they're trash and the wrong bolt pattern.
