Air Intake Upgrade

As my air intake is pretty worn out, (boot cracked, vibrating at idle etc0 Im thinking of upgrading the whole air intake system before going for my etest

Anyone has suggestions - if anyone had done it with their cars...

Also interested in cost as I dont plan on doing it myself...

same i want to change out to a cold air intake and new filter cause mine is pretty ghetto.

K&N is the way to go - Im not sure about pricing though - but its a DIY. No need to pay anyone to do it - order the parts online.

Will try and find the part numbers.

stock is best - throw in a panel filter and it will be fine.

Cold Air Intakes are for noobz that don't know that they are actually hot air intakes and will lose you HP. Not that you will notice any difference with anything on a 3000lb car.

I think this is ,my problem - the hole in the pipe - air is blowing out from there and thats probably the main reason my car is vibrating at idle...

All I did was change the oil and air filter and this shit started almost immediately.

RPMS dont go up and down, no warning lights etc - just a small vibration on idle especially when stuck in stop go traffic..

If its not that hole in the picture - any ideas before i order a new system?

Get a new boot n panel filter.i was goin to get a k&n but read an article saying the oil from the filter can be harmful?

I have one forsale - GruppeM with nice clean filter, for E46, non-M and won't fit 330i. Will fit everything else.

So looks like the damn idle shaking was for plugs. I changed mine about 2 summers back so I guess they went bad -- buddy of mine came over yesterday and we changed to NGK - cleaned the filter and thats it. Drove all day today without any shaking at idle - RPMS remain stable.

Also got the etest done and she passed without a hitch.

So look out for the plugs before you go around changing the whole intake system (like stupid me was about to do lol)
