"new" (to me) 2004 325i - Sluggish?

I just acquired a 2004 325i, my first 4 door sedan. I have been driving E46 coupe's all my life and this is the first time I am driving a 4 door.

The car runs very smoothly, drives like a limo in some respects and the braking is good.

However, when I lift my foot off the gas, the car seems to drag a bit and slow down more quickly than my 33ci. Overall it does seem to be a heavy car, even from acceleration and steering perspectives.

Is this my imagination, or is the weight of the 4 door the cause?

Brakes are not rubbing, no noises at all coming from the car, and all else seems normal. Transmission behaves as it should with no issues apparently there.

Comments? Suggestions where to look for issues?

Thanks in advance. Rob

The difference you feel could be due to different gear ratios and/or transmission programming.

Tires
Wheel bearings
Diff ratios
Transmissions
Sticking caliper
etc etc

No 2 cars feel the same. Your 325i is actually lighter than your 330Ci btw.

Is there actually a problem, or do you just 'feel like it drags' post

Guess it depends where in the band and what gear you are in as well. I too drive a e46 4 door and hey, its 4 doors with 180-190 hp, not exactly expecting lightning in a bottle lol
