K i found out the engine swap was not a new engine but it only has 18k in it. The reason why he changed it was because the first engine did not have enough torque apparantly.

and i thought the 5 series would be more reliable?
I am patient and would love to learn. If only I can learn from someone in this forum that lives in Calgary.
Im gonna try and find volunteer at a mechanics shop and hopefully learn there as well as help out.

LOL... all 325's don't have enough torque. Only a turbocharger can fix that.

Run away from this like wind. This is one of the scariest for sale ads I have ever heard.

Do yourself a favour and spend a few days reading everything on the message boards.

Hey guys might be a dumb question but is it possible to buy warranty on a used car?
The above link i posted is not the bmw I will be getting anymore but since the e46 series are highly unreliable according to reviews, I was thinking of purchasing warranty and just take advantage of warranty. I will be purchasing from a private dealer though.

They are by far NOT highly unreliable if you do your homework and get the right one! Neglected car will be trouble, well taken care of examples will be trouble free! In the last 2 years of driving my 330, the only things done are 2 gaskets (valve cover and oil filter housing), expention tank, RTAB's and a window switch. Just passed emission test with flying colours at 260K!

I called him and was told that the water pump, rad cap, t-stat, expansion tank and belt tensioner was done since he has owned it (may 2009)
