Cluster swap and correct mileage

I bought a '94 318is last fall. Drove it for a week, and put it away for the winter. I am now slowly getting it ready for our early spring.

I am having an issue with the instrument cluster. It turns off and then on on its own. All the gauges, and oil change lights are affected.

I want to change the cluster.

My question is this. The car has 220 000 KM on it. If I replace the cluster with a lower milage one, what do I have to do to get the correct mileage to register on the replacement cluster?

I have researched this a lot over the winter, and have not found a definitive answer.

Can someone please help?

There is a blue "chip" on the back of the cluster. Just switch them.

Then just run Test 9 as shown here:
