91 e34 obc ignition lock out? Reset?

So my friend just bought his first bmw a 91 e34. Car ran great and it had an ignition lock code set on the obc that was 0000. My buddy being a noob changed the code and then forgot it..... How do i reset this security system?now the car wont start without the right code

no clue....did you try to disconnect the battery overnight? will that even help?

The 91 E34 uses OBC 4. To deactivate this in the event the code is forgotten do the following;

1. Disconnect and then reconnect the battery

2. Turn ignition to position 1 only. (the horn may/will sound)

3. The OBC will now display a time of 15:00 minutes, this will now count down.

4. After the 15:00 minutes has elapsed the car may be started.

You can reset the code. Once you start the engine the code is erased.
