haha. Thats big money. Then I need to get my 2.0 heads cnc machined. I have a EJ257 short block (sti) which means I have the crank and rods for a 2.1 stroker in my blown EJ205. Which means I just technically need pistons and a rebuild for my 205 for a 2.1.
I'm torn between a doing a 2.0 with pistons and a medium sized turbo, or do a 2.1 with rod's and pistons, with a big turbo (but obviously more $$)
If I had an e30, i'd be fixing oil leaks and fixing rot.

^^Not if you bought the right e30!^^
you'd just be having fun spanking WRX's around road courses and autocrosses! And saving a bunch of money in the process........

And then I'd still have a 20+ year old BMW... With 20+ year old technology.

In your opinion because it's what you drive... But if you got in my car, and then in yours, mine would go around a track faster..

Nope, you should know I've driven dozens and dozens of different makes and models on the street and track. There's no doubt a stock wrx can out drag a stock e30 just. But once modified the differences are more apparent........that is until you blow it up because all one's done is increase the boost to a level the engine was not built to maintain. Seen it done tonnes of times, and will see it done tonnes more I'm sure. Back in the Diamond star days, then the scooby doo hay days and now with Mitsu's and toyotas. Around a training track an e30 with slight mods like mine will be quicker than a WRX with equal mods. On the GP track they will be tit for tat. An STI will be a little quicker. One of the Trillium members bought an STI when they first came out then the next season I saw him in an old e36 and said whats up? He said he's faster in that old e36 M3 stock than he was in the STI, BUT not in the straights, plus the feel and so on.
Don't get me wrong now, I do like Subaru's........a lot. But I've never bought one because everytime I went to buy one, 4 times, I walked away and bought a bimmer becuase it was just missing something..........years later I came to the conclusion it was the awd. If they built exactly the same car but rwd only, I'd probably be driving one now! Plus their seats are way better than the e30's thats for sure!

Funny thing is, the streets aren't a race track and we all daily drive our cars.
An E30 may perform on a track, but it still drives like a 20 year old car. Clunky, leaks, rotted, worn suspension. It's lacking all those creature comforts and up to date technologies. It doesn't matter how much you restore it and how much you put into it, or even how mint you think it is, metal fatigue sets in
I've driven an E30 with 60k on it at work, it's not like a new car.
And I'm sure buddy didn't sell his STI to get an E36 because the E36 was faster, an STI is an amazing car all around.
And Subaru's blow up because of bad tunes, just like any other forced induction car. An E30 doesn't blow up, because it's a N/A car, that's not high revving or very efficient.

Plus, you won't give a shit if you put it into a wall.

You are too funny dude. **** that is the same winter beating pile of disgust I see whenever an E36 rolls/drags itself by.
I hate those cars.

"Drags itself", hahaha. This is even worse than I described. Hub caps, no fogs. Not only does it have no fogs, but it's missing a blank! It probably has a burnt out tail light, and a sagging headliner. And wood trim.
Every e36 looks like this through my eyes.

I was looking for a second car for my girlfriend and a euro shop in town had an early e36 sedan, safetied, e-tested, from bc for a good price. He said it was silver but I forgot about the unpainted bumpers. I got there and I just couldn't do that to her....and she didn't like driving it anyways!
Nothing against you John but i'm with Maxbell and Scott on this one! Oh but can I still go for a ride when you get one?

I don't see how those green blobs look the same as by silver blob in winter mode.

Your car in winter mode looks better than most e36's in summer mode!
