M62 vanos camshaft timing tools for rent

Just finished up my timing chain guides on the e39. Bought the tools for $450 off ebay. If anyone needs them, I have them for rent. PM for details

how difficult was this job? I was supposed to do this on my m62 a few years ago but ended up selling my x5.

How much did you end up paying for new Vanos units?

The job is not difficult at all, just time consuming. There are a few DIYs write ups out there that are very detailed step by step with pictures. Took me a few weekends with help of my friend to get it done. I didn't have to buy new vanos units as I have a non vanos engine.
