Oil leak = Head gasket?
So I noticed a bit of an oil leak this morning after driving my car to work. The oil is leaking onto the heat shield above the header, and smoking up my whole engine bay.
Does this mean head gasket is gone? Where do you guys recommend to get this done? cost?? I'm in Markham area, so hopefully somewhere not too far...

The oil is leaking from your valve cover gasket...any independent shop can complete the repair,,,

Great trustworthy guys. Check them out at MVSMotors.com
They deal with Porsches and BMW'S basically anything European, and then some.

I doubt it's the head gasket, but if you're unsure, which sounds like you are, take it to one of the reputable shops on here. Bimmersport, RMP, and Pfaff just to name a few...all great shops with good BMW credibility.

agreed. Vcg is a common issue after 7 years or so, had mine changed at rmp. might as well get the thermostat changed, belts, etc at the same time.
