Don't feel bad, I had one sitting for 5 years and nobody has ever asked about it!

I'm assuming this is a manual ZF tranny. M50 clutch, flywheel and slave should work fine, but the ZF is longer than the Getrag, so you'll need the shorter driveshaft from a 328 or M3.

other way around - ZF is shorter than the Getrag.
You'll also need new shift linkage.

Anyone know or tested how much HP the getrag transmissions can hold without blowing up?

I've been running a getrag for the past two years, race conditions, with 232 WHP (so roughly 273BHP) and 220 ft-lbs with no issues.
Switching to the ZF for next season "just in case"

That's not bad, the reason I ask is cause I am building a turbo m50 on water/meth hoping to put down 400 RWHP @ cscs drift competition this year.

Well the good thing I won't be doing is running super wide tires... which in theory would cause less stress to be put on the transmission by limiting rotational mass, correct? I am thinking of using 215/50r15.

yeah I'm not too sure if it's the input or the output that's a problem... Either way, you can try it - just be ready with a backup plan lol
