I got some VHT flameproof stuff, sanded down my headers and sprayed them.
I 'baked' them by getting bimmersport to install them and running the car lol stunk up the shop real bad. They're holding up just fine too! If you can bake them yourself before installing them, then save yourself the money and buy this for $11.00!

didn't know mike did ceramic coating. I know him, my friend got his rims done there a couple times. I'll give him a call and see. apparently you need to get them coated inside and out to make sure they don't crack.

I think he may do it or he sends them out to someone. they are dirt cheap state side but up here it cost $$$.

Ceramic-coated headers are insulated and hold in more heat (radiating less heat into the engine bay, and more out the exhaust). This additional heat raises the temperature of the headers compared to non-coated ones, and puts a lot more stress on them.
Short version: Ceramic coating headers wont make good headers crack, however, make sure your welds are good and you're using the correct thickness material when making them.

And it actually works. Ceramic coating helps but it's a few molecules worth of spray, it's not magic. And as you said, it will eventually flake off anyway (Jethot supposedly holds up better than the "local" types, if I were to do coating, I'd only ship to a Jethot coater). If heat management is the goal, wrapping is the only way to go.
