No kidding, eh. This is a pretty doable swap if you can get the engine for less than 3k.

maybe but if you swap the whole thing out I dont see why this would be needed we will see during his swap what he will have to do and see.

you have to use the mss54 dme and there are a few options for tuning since the swap is becoming more common.

How many KMS did you have the S52 before you deciced enough was enough?
I love my S52 except for those damn noisy lifters

My car has 170k and the s52 still runs amazing. Probably going to stuff it into the e30 one day. My friends are calling me crazy for pulling out a perfectly good motor but I think this car deserves a true m engine.

Danimal has an ls in his e36. I'm not sure how much that swap would cost but it probably isn't cheaper than the s54. Even if it was cheaper I still wouldn't do it. I've been in an s54 powered e36 and its just the perfect amount of power in that chassis. With headers and a tune I'll be around 300whp.

well it's very close to designed power if you consider the euro engine isn't that far off, and that is the way it was designed.
