would e36 coilovers fit on an e39 540?

sorry if this is a repeat...but ive searched and searched and havnt come up with anything. i recently bought a 540 and the suspension is toast...someone in the past took heat to the springs to lower the car.....enough said. lol

i called around a few places for coilovers and they said that e36 coilovers would fit on the e39 once i remove the bracket that mounts upto the hub assembly on the e36

now that being said....i have a set of raceland coilovers from my old e36 with approx 1000kms.
has anyone ever done this swap? or reccomend not doing it. i dont wanna butcher a set of good coils if i dont have too.

for anyone that has done it..how does it ride? id figure the e39 being more heavy would make a huge difference in how the coils perform.

Its not even close, whoever said that probably has never seen the cars side by side.

Also, 540 is close to 3900lb without driver, you are going to have a hell of a sag to use E36 spring rates.

Use proper suspension, that was designed for you vehicle.

Plus raceland is a crappy suspension setup as it is
