95--525i Rear brake job

Hey Everybody..

I just purchased 1995 525i, and I am new to the BMW world. I am replacing rear rotors and pads this weekend (parts bought and will be picked up at Maranello, a little drive from Hamilton, hopefully it's worth the trip).

For some reason I have only one sensor for rear brake linings (on passenger side), should there be another one on driver side or not? And where does it disconnect?

Nope, there is one one the front and one on the rear. BMW assumes brake wear is the same one the same axe.

No need to disconnect the wear sensor. Simply remove it from the old pad and clip it on the new pad.

By the looks of it, the wear sensor was sliced off, that's why I have to replace the whole sensor.

I see... I think the wear sensor wire should lead to connector somewhere on the strut.

You can also simply strip the end of the wire, twist them together and tape them up. This will disable the sensor, but will turn off the brake wear light.
