In memory of Mike

One year ago today we lost a great person. My best friend Mike (mstearnsy on this board) died from his injuries in a car crash near Stratford during the evening of October 25th. I miss him dearly.

Though we will never truly know what happened that rainy night, his parents has come to the conclusion that it was a result of his worn tires after a track day. That said, please don't drive on bald tires, especially in the rain as Mike did. Please let the pictures of his car tell a strong message regarding this.

This is the first time I've shared these pictures with anyone outside family.

I really hate to think about the pain that Mike might have gone through. No one was able to talk to him after the accident because he was in a coma.

For his sake, I hope there are cars where ever he is!

That was indeed a very sad day. Didn't know him personally but losing a bmw enthusiast, and someone who cared about cars as much as we all do here is like losing a brother. RIP Mike.

btw, very nice of you to start a thread like this. I'm sure he always knew what a good friend he had.

I enjoyed reading his threads. He definitely knew alot about BMWs and it is sad to see that knowledge is no longer available to us. RIP Mike.

Complete shame, I hope that this unfortunate incident is a wake up call to many about the dangers of driving on tires that are not road-worthy anymore.

May Mike rest in peace.

Please for the love of all that you care about, check your tires often and don't spare a few hundred dollars on a new set of tires, that amount of money is not worth losing your life, the lives of the people you love and other motorists on the road.

As drivers we have an obligation to ensure the safety of others and ourselves, money should not be a deterrent for safety.

This is a great thread, but I do hope that they stay low in number.

RIP
