np, didn't realize that was you! You did pretty good out there, pulled more than a thought a 320 would.

havent really looked at it yet. It didnt overheat. It definitely could have been over revved, after watching my gopro footage, I was definitely pushing a lot of my downshifts to rev limiter, The oil was very watery when i checked it though. I definitely should have let the car cool down more often. The worst part is I did a complete lap with the rods knocking, because I didn't realize the sound was coming from my car. Whatever though, shit happens, still had a great time that day! time to put the 2.2L back in and start the s54 fund for the start of next season!

Lol. yeah man, S54 is where its at. Curious what did happen to the motor though... I'll put my money on the oil pump failing (nut, shaft, whatever).
What oil do you run?

No eh, that is weird... maybe a spun bearing or something. Yeah, just looking at what others run in their E46s on track. Researching what are the dos and don'ts so I can avoid surprises with mine haha.

Thanks! Didn't know there were more max people there, come say hi next time.
Stop using GTX with your replacement mill btw. I don't like to make assumptions on spilled milk but that oil is way out of spec for an M54. I'd guess rod bearing.

yea, basically the oil turned into water, and my bearings disintegrated. Good times! o well, learning experience! I now have the weirdest e46 known to man. 320i 6 speed with m3 rear end. NEED S54 ASAP!!!!! PS. does anyone know if the smg harness and dme will work for my swap. I hear that it will work as long as I wire the neutral safety switch and get the dme reprogrammed as a manual.
