I don't think I'll go the "mint" route for an e21. I've tried that path with the e30 and now the e36 and I dont like it. there are always so many little things that make me nuts. I strive to make my cars PERFECT, so if one little spec of rust or one rubber stripping is frayed I go nuts!

the e21 would be race inspired, i like the look of the body kits and am looking for a dedicated track car.

Sorry to thread jack but all you peeps saying e30 is better quality than e36??? What? You people have never owned an e36 then. I've had two of each and in no way, any way is an e30 a better car than an e36. No way. E36 is way more reliable, better built, better interior by a landslide, cheaper to fix, easier to work on. It just goes on and on...

I've had a few of each in my time as well and I have to agree that a well built e36 is a better car... for me. Its quiet handles very well and can be very easy to maintain...

the E30 on the other hand seems to me to be very loud and with only a few modifications to the suspension such as my car has it becomes very bumpy. I prefer the e36 or e46 as a daily but the e30 is a much better cruiser car. I get tones of looks and thumbs up all the time... getting to old for that now though

someone Faking buy this so I can build my E21 already!

I will be in Ontario from Dec 22 - Jan 2, and would like to visit my family in Petrolia sometime between Christmas and the new year. Would be great to stop and see your car, too. Will you be available to show? (I can understand everybody has a lot of obligations at this time of year...)

Now where do i start...On the E30;
The window regulators dont self destruct
The mirrors dont fade
The rear subframe doesnt fall off
The wipers dont seize and brake off (sedans) all the time
Door panels dont separate (bubble)
OBC's display tend to stay working
Roof liners didnt sag
List goes on and on...

And this is just comparing to the E36, not even talking about the problems with E46/E90!!! Considering the age, the E30 is VERY well built, VERY reliable, and pretty cheap!

i agree with eurostyle, i mean i got one of each, the e36 interior IS alot more well setup, but you have to remember WHEN e30s were made, there's almost nothing else that was made late 80s that could touch the e30s "technology" and craftsmanship. GLWS mate thats a clean e30 you have there

^^^ thanks!

Phil you are right in many ways... consider that you can have a very clean, very well put together s50 swapped beautiful e30 for 10,000$ now consider that I paid 30,000$ for my truck. e30s are NOT a lot of money for a very very unique and reliable (if not comfortable) car.

I am approaching my BMWs as a hobby NOT as daily drivers anymore ..... hence the e21 and the e36 track builds... just want to try something new (new to me anyways) been doing e30's for a decade now and its time to move on...
