Cool pictures. I wonder if the Italy thing is a regional difference. I spent the last week in Northern Italy (between Milan, Lago di Garda, Verona and Venice) and saw tons of old cars, mostly old Fiats, Lancias, ect. but still quite a few old BMW's. That being said, it's not like being in Bavaria where you can see numerous clean E30s (or old BMWs for that matter) daily. The best thing is how clean and solid the bodies on these cars are in all of these areas.

I don't think there are as many E30's in Europe as people think.

I spent 4 weeks there this Summer and I travelled from Paris to Southern Italy totally by train and bus.

I can easily count the number of E30's I saw on both hands. And trust me, I was looking for them!

I have never been to Germany so maybe that's where they are all hiding...

That's so ironic, I was thinking about this thread this morning as I drove through Munich. On a approx. 20km drive, and not intentionally looking out, I saw five. All were quite nice too, only one was say "plain jane".

I will admit though, I feel you see many more in Germany than other places, but like I said, I saw a few of them in N. Italy and I was only there for a few days.

I should definitely start driving around with a camera. Here is a quick example of something I caught the other morning with a friends camera phone as we were leaving the house.
Below it is something else I saw in the neighbourhood the other day. Not exactly a classic, but definitely something special that looked incredible.

I posted in this in the news section, in the thread for the new F30 3-Series launch, but I thought I would add it to this post because the E30 fellas will enjoy the angle of this photo. I will actually be attending the BMW 3 Series Hommage (tribute to all 3 series models) and F30 intro at the BMW Museum/World tomorrow evening in Munich. It's a special night in the BMW district and many of their buildings will be open with new or speciality displays, particularly tributes to all generation 3 series, until 2:00 am.

Here is a photo of one room they have setup in the Museum (or one side of one room). Brand new (or as close as it gets) E30's on display, including M3 and other variants.

^Yeah I can't wait to go to the BMW museum next week.
Here are a few more E30's I've seen while walking around

Paris... smart car parked a little close. Using other cars as bump stops is pretty much the norm over here because parking is so tight. I've seen a dozen or so cars get bumped when people are parallel parking over the past couple weeks

Right on, you will have a blast. I took some pictures at the event there last Saturday evening, but will hold back on posting anything so that I don't spoil too many surprises for you. If the hommage to the 3 series is still setup, get ready to see a brand new E30 if you've never before. Do you know what day you're going on?

In Europe it's optional to have badges on a lot of cars.
